AI · with PixelLab
Pick a PixelLab Sprite engine, describe it and get pixel art on a new artboard, at the size your game uses.
Pick Walk, Run, Idle, Attack or Jump in the timeline. New frames, a layer and a tag land right after your pose.
One click cuts a sprite out onto transparent pixels, ready for the timeline.
Lock the palette and every sprite, edit and fill AI makes snaps to the colours your game already uses.
Results land as a draft. Flip through variations on the canvas, press ↵ to keep, and undo it in one step.
Sprites on this page are hand-drawn to show the workflow.
Results land on a locked ✦ layer. Keep it, try again or discard it, and Keep is a single undo step.
Lock sprites, edits and fills to your artboard's palette so AI art sits next to your hand-drawn sprites.
Every prompt card shows its estimate first, and every account includes a monthly AI allowance. The biggest jobs always ask before they start.
How AI usage worksMultiplayer
Split a walk cycle without splitting the file.
Share › Copy edit link, and a teammate who signs in is drawing in your file. No seats to set up, no files to send.
⌘Z takes back your strokes, keeps what teammates painted since, and tells you what it kept.
Try it with KaiDraw
Ship
Tweak a pixel, press ⇧⌘X, and your last export runs again with the same settings.
Tag direction, repeats and every frame's timing carry into the GIF you post.
Set up 1×, 2× and 4× once in the Export panel and download them together.
Nothing to install or update. Everyone on the team is always on the same version.
There's no Save button to forget. Press ⌘S out of habit and Pixelart Makers tells you it's already done.
Download a .pixelart file with every artboard, layer, frame and tag, and drop it back in to open it.
Keymap, right-click behaviour and AI preferences sync to your account on every browser you sign in to.
Signing up is free, and the whole editor comes with your account. AI features use a monthly AI allowance that comes with every account. Every prompt card shows its estimate before you run it, every result shows what it used, and the biggest jobs ask first.
Yes. Anyone you send a link to signs up free, or signs in with Google, and joins the file as an editor.
Only people who have its link and sign in, and anyone with the link can edit, so share it with the people you're making the game with. If you publish the file, anyone can view the published copy, and signed-in people can remix it into a file of their own if you allow remixes, but neither gives them your file or its link.
PixelLab is an AI made for pixel art. In Pixelart Makers it powers the Sprite engines for Make a sprite, Edit with prompt and Fill selection, plus Remove background, Animate from here, Generate in-betweens, Rotate to directions and the prompt wand on Sprite engines. Variations, Render sketch, Erase and Isolate object, Edit frames and the clean-up actions can run on a Sprite engine too.
Sprite sheets come with the standard JSON (hash or array) that Phaser, Godot, Unity and LibGDX read. You can also export PNGs, GIFs, Animated PNGs and numbered PNG sequences.
The editor is built for desktop browsers. On a touchscreen or with a pen, the canvas draws with one finger or the pen, pans and zooms with two fingers, and a quick two-finger tap undoes. Your file list also works on phones.
